| alwaysONnet is based on an innovative ItE technology (Internet thru Ethernet), which could cover a radius of 10 km from the POP and create a very stable broadband network at the lowest cost in the world of just $25/subscriber including the Ethernet card. Comparable technologies like DSL, CMTS cost over $200 / subscriber including the modem. Using this technology, a 250-km backbone network was laid in Ahmedabad with 7 strategically located POPs. This technology was sold to 2 more regional ISPs in India. |
